Set within a historically significant building, the new workplace for HKS Architects brings together heritage, sustainability, and modern functionality through a design inspired by Singapore’s evolution as a trading settlement.
A bespoke mural by artist Christ Chai traces the nation’s transformation across the two-storey space, creating a visual narrative that connects the workplace to its surroundings. Working within heritage requirements, a tight timeline, and complex site conditions, the project called for careful coordination to preserve the building’s original character while introducing the needs of a contemporary architectural practice.
